The U.S. is the only country on Earth that allows a single VOTER TO CHALLENGE UNLIMITED NUMBER OF BALLOTS. Marjorie Taylor Green’s manager challenged over 32,000 votes herself. Widespread voter challenges were made by GOP officials and operatives, removing millions from ballots in swing states.

THE PROVISIONAL BALLOT SCAM

Millions of voters who went to the polls to vote and were informed they were not registered to vote, and were either turned away, or given a provisional ballot to fill out.

Provisional ballots are thrown in the trash because the person filling out the ballot was still not on the registery when they filled out the provisional ballot at the polling station.

I. The Problem In 2002, Congress enacted the Help America Vote Act (“HAVA”), an initial federal effort to prevent a recurrence of the electoral dysfunction that plagued the 2000 presidential election.

HAVA created a system of provisional voting, by which voters whose names were not found on the precinct voter rolls or were challenged by an election official could nevertheless cast a ballot that would be counted if the voter’s eligibility was later confirmed.

The law requires a voter to sign an affirmation that he or she is registered to vote in “the jurisdiction in which the individual desires to vote” and “eligible to vote in that election.”

This statutory right to cast a provisional vote only applies to votes cast in elections for federal office, but states may at their discretion include state and local races on a provisional ballot as well.

Though HAVA offered scant guidance on the procedures states should implement, it did require separating provisional ballots from regular ballots and ultimately transmitting the provisional ballots to officials for verification of voter eligibility and counting or rejection.

Crucially, two kinds of states are exempt from the requirement to offer provisional voting altogether:

(1) states that do not have any registration system (only North Dakota), and

(2) states with same-day registration (“SDR”) (e.g., New Hampshire, Minnesota and Wisconsin).

A provisional ballot may be rejected for a variety of specific reasons, most obviously if election officials confirm the voter is not registered in the state at all.

According to the Advancement Project’s research, in the 2006 general election, 46 percent of the provisional ballots cast in Ohio (approximately 10,610) were rejected for being cast in the wrong precinct.

In Cuyahoga and Franklin counties, the percentage of wrong-precinct rejections was 61 and 69 percent, respectively.

MEANWHILE….IN NORTH CAROLINA:

In North Carolina 356,884 votes were cast FOR PRESIDENT ONLY - NO OTHER BOXES CHECKED - all went to Trump, who won N. Carolina by 189,000 votes while Democratic Party women candidates in N. Carolina won by large margins.

It only adds up to voter suppression, GOP election fraud.

In this documentary, investigative reporter Greg Palast (Rolling Stone, Guardian, BBC) confronts the vigilantes—including one Republican operative in Georgia who personally challenged 32,000 voters, almost all of them African-Americans.

Palast also exposes another vigilante, Alton Russell, who actually dresses up like vigilante Doc Holliday, loaded six guns and all, who successfully blocked 4,000 Black soldiers from Ft. Benning from getting their ballots.

In 2022, 88 voter vigilantes challenged 180,000 voters in Georgia.

In 2024, the vigilante operation has swelled to 40,000 volunteers who have been given a list of a million voters to challenge in swing states from Arizona to Nevada to Wisconsin and beyond.

Today’s vigilantes are following the script first used by the Ku Klux Klan in 1946 to successfully elect their strategist, Eugene Talmadge as Governor of Georgia by challenging every Black voter on the rolls.

That the MAGA crew in 2024 is using the old Klan Plan is shocking.

The Palast team’s preliminary version of the film, promoted by Black Votes Matter Fund, NAACP, ACLU and Rainbow/PUSH in 2022, focused on Georgia; we were credited by public radio with saving Rev. Sen. Raphael Warnock’s re-election.

We are non-partisan, but we are proud that we helped the voters, not the vigilantes, choose their Senator.
