Dr. Subeh Reports from Deir Al-Balah - Israelis still blocking medical supply trucks going into Gaza
It's more proof of US-backed Israeli genocide, extermination of the Palestinian people

Deir Al-Balah, Gaza
“This is not something new that the Palestinians are enduring…friends in the West Bank tell me the same thing, just a different flavor under the occupation.”
- Today I worked on refining our processes and updating our contingency plans in case we are forced to move the hospital again, or if surrounding hospitals are besieged and have to evacuate.
- One of the most difficult things we continue to face is lack of medications and supplies. I’m working on a pain management protocol since even tylenol and ibuprofen are severely limited, so we’re trying to come up with creative ways to help manage peoples’ pain as they undergo surgeries and medical procedures.
- Supply trucks are being held up at the border by Israel, and the truck drivers are often humiliated and treated like animals by the Israeli soldiers before they’re let through. For people here, this treatment is something they’re very much used to. This isn’t just unique to Gaza, as people in the West Bank experience similar treatment as well.
Silver lining: As I was walking out of the ER I saw a patient who I had mentioned in previous diaries, sitting outside in a wheelchair with his amputated leg. He had lost his parents and siblings when his house was bombed by an Israeli missile, and we’re still trying to figure out how to break the news to him. I started to chat with him, and he’s so incredibly humble and sweet and just our simple conversation really lit up my night.

It’s mind boggling that the supplies that you need to help people in your mission is so close but yet so far because they will not let them through. We will continue to speak and raise awareness about it. And we of course have you and your colleagues in our prayers for your safety and heroism 🤍🙏🏼🤲🏼

Thank you as always for the daily update ❤️ unfortunately unless there is a miracle 🙏 I see no eng to this horrendous situation. If the ordinary person can see this horror, I can not understand why the powers of the world and the un are not doing something to stop Israels genocide and hold them accountable

Oh my. I will continue to pray for your continued safety of you and all the other medical staff working so hard. I’ll also pray for your patients. Especially Yousef. I have some experience disclosing traumatic deaths to people and it’s hard every single time.

I want to be part of the love and praise given and all of the comments above I don’t know how to express how much you are loved and admired every day. You are being prayed for. I’m an older woman now, but wish I could do more. I just don’t understand why the supplies are being held up. It’s just so so awful.

That's the thing with the Palestinians in Gaza...they are so humble, yet they are better than all the rest of us in the world. 😔
