Merrick Garland: Hiding in Plain Sight
Merrick Garland protected Trump from the day Garland was sworn in on 11 March, 2021 until today and beyond
Merrick Garland is one of the biggest troublemakers in U.S. history.
No, I’m not an effin’ Republican criticizing Garland for doing things Garland should be doing.
It is essential that Americans understand who Merrick Garland is and what he has done and not done.
Do you enjoy being terrorized by Convicted Felon and rapist Donald Trump and his MAGA gang? I don’t.
There is no way on God’s Green Earth that Trump should be walking around a free man after trying to overthrow the U.S. government and steal the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election.
You can thank Joe Biden and Merrick Garland for literally facilitating the 2024 Donald Trump for President campaign.
Merrick Garland intentionally refrained from launching any DOJ investigation into Trump and his co-defendants until AFTER the Jan. 6 Commission reported its findings.
Merrick Garland admitted he never had any intention of launching a DOJ investigation into Trump; and BUT FOR the Jan. 6 Commission and report, Garland never would have launched a DOJ criminal investigation into Trump and his-co-defendants.
BUT FOR Garland waiting two years to prosecute Trump for his Jan. 6 crimes, Trump would have already been convicted and sentenced to a long federal prison term.
Why didn’t Garland have any desire whatsoever to investigate and prosecute the masterminds of Jan. 6?
Because 1) Garland is a conservative Federalist Society moderator who subscribes to the conservative Federalist Society belief that U.S. Presidents, U.S. Supreme Court Justices and U.S. Senators are ABOVE THE LAW AND SHALL NOT BE SUBJECT TO FEDERAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS AND PROSECUTIONS;
2) Because President Biden wanted a U.S. Attorney General that would NOT, NOT, NOT investigate the masterminds of Jan. 6. When Biden became President-elect Biden, he was asked by reporters, Are you going to prosecute Donald Trump and his gang for the January 6 insurrection? Biden stated that he did not want a big federal investigation into Donald Trump “…consuming his presidency.”
Biden told reporters that he “preferred unity instead of DOJ investigations consuming his presidency.”
Biden said he would leave the decision to investigate Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection up to Merrick Garland, which I say is a LIE, because I believe Biden hired Garland on the premise and promise of NO DOJ INVESTIGATIONS OF TRUMP.
Biden very deceitfully cast his promise of NO DOJ INVESTIGATIONS OF TRUMP as proof that Biden would not “weaponize” the Justice Dept. to prosecute his political enemies like Trump did.
NEWSFLASH: Trump did weaponize the DOJ by specifically directing DOJ officials to go after Trump’s personal political enemies; that is in stark, diametric contrast to a President directing his appointed U.S. Attorney General to go after a particular person or group of persons who are repeatedly committing serious MULTI-STATE FEDERAL CRIMES.
In other words, Joe Biden’s political enemies do not get a free pass from committing federal crimes and prosecutions just because the violator is also a political enemy of the President.
Moreoever, President Biden - like any other President - owes a legal and constitutional duty to protect America from all enemies: both foreign and domestic.
Donald Trump is the very definition of a domestic enemy of the U.S. government as evidenced by Trump’s actions and January 6 insurrection.
Trump reminds me of John Dillinger, going around robbing small donors instead of banks. At least President Roosevelt did something about John Dillnger; whereas Merrick Garland and Biden gave Trump a free pass from federal prosecution for so many years that Trump was able to run for President again and execute another MAGA insurrection: Trump Insurrection 2.0.
If Joe Biden spoke truthfully about this issue, Biden would say, “C’mon man, we can’t prosecute Republicans for how they raise money, because if we did, the next time Republicans are in charge they would prosecute Democrats for how we raise money and do other things that Republicans also do.”
The average voter in the year 2024 cannot fathom the misogyny, the wickedness, the class-based hatefulness of “conservatism” that resides in the hearts and minds of many Democrats and all Republicans.
“Conservatism” is a sociopathy masquerading as a legitimate political ideology.
Six out of ten Congresspersons and Senators are white Christian nationalists who see no reason to pass the George Floyd Act; see no reason to cut US funds and arms to Israel; see no reason to get BIG MONEY out of politics; see no reason to EXPAND THE SUPREME COURT to a Democratic Party majority on the Court; see no reason to replace the rotten, rogue, criminal GOP justices actively destroying fifty years of landmark U.S. Supreme Court landmark decisions and destroying our civil liberties and rights.
It is absolutely essential to know that BUT FOR THE JANUARY 6 COMMISSION INVESTIGATION AND REPORT, Donald Trump would have NEVER BEEN INDICTED for his federal crimes.
I wish every American would spend a moment contemplating THE FACT THAT BIDEN AND GARLAND NEVER HAD ANY INTENTION WHATSOEVER of prosecuting Trump for his Jan. 6 crimes.
I wish every American would think about Merrick Garland in March of 2021, only about 65 days after January 6 insurrection, quietly concluding that the best thing to do was NOTHING AT ALL about Trump and his co-defendants executing their STOP THE STEAL hijacking of the U.S. government and stealing voters right to select the U.S. President.
Jack Smith would have never been appointed to investigate Trump, and would have never investigated Trump and his gang BUT FOR THE MASSIVE PUBLIC PRESSURE AND OUTCRY from Americans who watched the Jan. 6 Commission proceedings - who were extremely despondent over the Trump/MAGA attempted overthrow of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election and demanded that action be taken.
Merrick Garland doesn’t have a prosecutorial bone in his body.
Garland is an old, tired judge who is a card-carrying member of the bi-partisan crimewave in Washington.
MSNBC hosts have asked their MSNBC legal analysts, Glenn Kirschner and Andrew Weissmann, Why did Garland wait two years to launch a DOJ criminal investigation into Trump and his Jan. 6 gang?
Both Weissman and Kirschner expressed dismay and even anger towards Garland for not launching a DOJ investigation into Trump and his gang back after Garland was sworn in as U.S. Attorney General on 11 March, 2021, only 65 days after Jan. 6 insurrection.
Glenn Kirschner and Weissman both said there is no good excuse or reason why Garland waited two years to prosecute Trump.
MERRICK GARLAND GIFTS TRUMP THE GOLDEN GOOSE FOREVERMORE
I hate Merrick Garland for he is the POSTER CHILD for the bi-partisan, non-prosecution zone on Capitol Hill.
I’m talking about Garland intentionally failing to prosecute Trump under federal fraud statutes for fraudulently extracting over a quarter billion dollars, over $250 million dollars from voters based on a demonstrably false premise.
Jack Smith prepared the documents to charge Trump for violating federal fraud statutes, but decided not to file them for some reason.
Special counsel Jack Smith pulls subpoena over pro-Trump fundraising
Withdrawn subpoena could mean Smith is scaling back inquiry into fundraising related to false claims of election fraud
October 17, 2023 at 5:33 p.m. EDT
(WASHINGTON POST) Special counsel Jack Smith has withdrawn a subpoena seeking records about fundraising by the political action committee Save America — a group that is controlled by former president Donald Trump and whose activities related to efforts to block the results of the 2020 presidential election have come under investigation, people familiar with the matter said.
The withdrawal of the subpoena earlier this month indicates Smith is scaling back at least part of his inquiry into the political fundraising work that fed and benefited from unfounded claims that the election was stolen, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing criminal investigation.
Save America was still working to gather all of the records sought in the subpoena when it was notified by Smith’s office that the demand for information had been withdrawn, two of the people familiar with the matter said. The federal indictment of Trump filed in August, which charged him with four counts related to alleged obstruction of the 2020 election, does not refer specifically to Save America.
A spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment on the withdrawal of the Save America subpoena. Smith’s office issued a flurry of similar subpoenas to other groups and individuals earlier this year, probing Trump campaign officials, Republican operatives and others about fundraising related to efforts to overturn the presidential election in the months before and after the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
A representative for Save America declined to comment.
“It is not unusual for prosecutors to cast a broad net in seeking documents at the outset of an investigation,” said Robert Mintz, a former federal prosecutor now in private practice. While it’s difficult to say where this part of Smith’s probe is ultimately headed, Mintz said, the withdrawn subpoena “may simply reflect a pragmatic decision to narrow the scope of the investigation.”
Broadly, the subpoenas and related interviews by Smith’s investigators sought information about the post-election, pro-Trump fundraising, and what people inside Save America and other groups knew about the veracity of the claims they were making to raise money, the people familiar with the matter said.
The Save America PAC was founded in the wake of the 2020 election.
The group raised more than $100 million, largely on fundraising appeals that made baseless claims that Democrats had conducted widespread voter fraud and stolen the election from Trump, when in fact Joe Biden had defeated the incumbent president.
Save America has been a key source of funding not just for political activities, but also for the legal costs associated with the various state and federal investigations that have resulted in four separate indictments of Trump — the election-obstruction case in D.C., a state-level election-obstruction case in Georgia, a classified-documents case in Florida and a state-level case in New York involving a hush money payment in the 2016 election. In two cases, Trump’s aides or advisers also were charged.
The PAC has spent tens of millions of dollars on legal bills for Trump, who has denied wrongdoing, and those around him.” - WASH POST
Trump was allowed to continue his fraudulent fundraising for four years, raising hundreds of millions of dollars based on his false premise of “SEND ME MONEY TO MY ‘SAVE AMERICA FUND‘ SO MY LAWYERS CAN REINSTATE ME AS PRESIDENT.”
Trump spent much of the first $250 million dollars Trump fraudulently raised crying STOP THE STEAL on his personal expenses.
GUESS WHAT? THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS ON CHARGING TRUMP WITH FRAUDULENTLY FUNDRAISING $250 MILLION RUNS OUT THIS MONTH.
No one talks about that. No one. Nobody.
My point is Merrick Garland is a conservative asshole who EASILY AND QUITE NATURALLY refrains from prosecuting Trump or anyone on Capitol Hill for fraudulent fundraising of any kind, because that’s how the bi-partisan crimewave rolls in Washington.
On Capitol Hill it’s socially and politically unacceptable for any Republican or Democrat Attorney General to investigate and prosecute any Republican or Democrat for fraudulent fundraising.
THAT IS WHY TRUMP CONTINUES TO FRAUDULENTLY FUNDRAISE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON HIS FAKE STOP THE STEAL CLAIM, WITHOUT FEAR OF PROSECUTION for violating federal fraud statutes.
The federal fraud statute is very basic, as it defines fraud as soliciting funds based on a false premise.
If you or I tried to raise a quarter billion dollars based on a false premise, we would be quickly and unceremoniously prosecuted for the first five thousand bucks, much less over $250 million and growing.
Every time I hear Trump’s voice, every time I see Trump fraudently fundraising millions still claiming STOP THE STEAL, every time I see the 2024 TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT campaign signs I think of MERRICK GARLAND AND THE FEDERALIST SOCIETY.
Make no mistake about it: Merrick Garland has normalized fraudulent fundraising of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Here’s a mindblowing political realization: because Merrick Garland has allowed and normalized Trump and Republican fraudulent fundraising hundreds of millions using the false premise of STOP THE STEAL, even after Trump is convicted and sent to prison Trump and Republicans will continue to fraudulently fundraise from their prison cells.
I’m here to tell you that the biggest problem in Washington should be the biggest primary goal of a new political party: GET BIG MONEY OUT OF POLITICS.
Democrats and Republicans will never GET BIG MONEY OUT OF POLITICS.
Washington D.C. runs on BIG MONEY and the day We The People get BIG MONEY out of politics, is the day We The People END special interest and corporate control of our government.
The last thing Democrats, Republicans and their BIG DONORS want is public funding of federal elections and a level playing field.
If We The People do not form a new party and start running candidates to defeat Democrats and Republicans, BIG MONEY WILL CONTROL OUR LIVES AND GOVERNMENT FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
American voters’ failure to create a new party to defeat Democrats and Republicans will be cited by future survivors as THE REASON BIG MONEY DESTROYED AMERICA.
Thank you for this series of articles. A reminder of what DC really is like. Not that any of this is a surprise. It's just nice to be reminded of the game now and again, especially in an election year.
